To raise funds to provide bursaries to Italian students to cover costs of residential courses in the UK. These students are usually direct descendants of, or connected with, the very families who provided much needed food and shelter to Allied prisoners of war who had escaped form their prison camps after the Armistice was signed with the Allies in 1943.

Charitable objects

(1) TO ADVANCE EDUCATION BY ENABLING ITALIANS TO COME TO ENGLAND TO LEARN THE LANGUAGE FOR LIMITED PERIODS IN ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING WAYS: (I)AWARDING SCHOLARSHIPS, BURSARIES OR MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES TENABLE AT ANY SCHOOL, UNIVERSITY OR OTHER EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENT IN THE UNITED KINGDOM TO PERSONS UNDER 25 YEAS OF AGE WHO OR WHOSE PARENTS OR GUARDIANS ARE RESIDENT IN ITALY; II) PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND BURSARIES TO DEFRAY REASONABLE TRAVEL, TUITION EXPENSES AND LIVING EXPENSES WHICH WILL ENABLE SUCH PERSONS UNDER 25 YEARS OF AGE TO STUDY ENGLISH IN THE UNITED KINGDOM; III) AWARDING SUCH PERSONS GRANTS OR MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES TO ENABLE THEM TO TRAVEL IN THE UNITED KINGDOM IN FURTHERANCE OF THEIR STUDY OF ENGLISH; IV) OTHERWISE FURTHERING THE EDUCATION OF ENGLISH OF SUCH PERSONS IN THE UNITED KINGDOM.
