Charitable objects
TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC AND IN PARTICULAR TO PROMOTE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT RESEARCH INTO MATTERS OF PUBLIC TAXATION, PUBLIC POLICY, APPLIED ECONOMICS AND POLITICAL SCIENCE AND TO DISSEMINATE THE USEFUL RESULTS THEREOF. 'PUBLIC TAXATION' MEANS THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL IMPLICATIONS OF GOVERNMENT TAXATION POLICY, IN PARTICULAR IN RELATION TO THE PERFORMANCE AND MANAGEMENT OF THE ECONOMY, AND THE IMPACT OF TAXATION ON THE PRIVATE SECTOR AND INDIVIDUALS. 'PUBLIC POLICY' MEANS THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL IMPLICATIONS OF GOVERNMENT POLICY AND THE OPERATION OF MARKETS, IN PARTICULAR IN RELATION TO THE PERFORMANCE AND MANAGEMENT OF THE ECONOMY, THE PROVISION OF PUBLIC SERVICES AND THE STRUCTURE AND SIZE OF NATIONAL AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT, BOTH IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND ABROAD. 'APPLIED ECONOMICS' MEANS THE APPLICATION OF ECONOMIC ANALYSIS TO SPECIFIC ISSUES IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR. 'POLITICAL SCIENCE' MEANS THE THEORY AND PRACTICE OF POLITICS AND POLITICAL BEHAVIOUR AND THE DESCRIPTION AND ANALYSIS OF POLITICAL SYSTEMS AND HOW ALTERNATIVE MODELS COULD BE USED TO IMPROVE THE EFFECTIVENESS OF GOVERNMENT.
