THE CHARITY'S OBJECTS (THE OBJECTS) ARE: (3.1) TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL AND OTHER SUPPORT TOWARDS THE PRESERVATION, EXHIBITION AND OPERATION FOR PUBLIC BENEFIT, EDUCATION AND INSTRUCTION OF THE OLDEST SURVIVING EXAMPLE OF THE GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY 28XX CLASS HEAVY FREIGHT LOCOMOTIVE NUMBER 2807. (3.2) TO SUPPORT THE RESTORATION OF ANY RELATED HISTORIC RAILWAY ROLLING STOCK OR FREIGHT VEHICLES UNDERTAKEN BY THE NOT-FOR-PROFIT COMPANY COTSWOLD STEAM PRESERVATION LIMITED. (3.3) TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC AND DEMONSTRATE TO THEM THE DEVELOPMENT OF HEAVY FREIGHT LOCOMOTIVES AND THE PART THEY PLAYED IN THE MOVEMENT OF COAL TRAFFIC OVER THE PERIOD 1900-1960.
