Charitable objects
1 TO PROMOTE AND ENCOURAGE PUBLIC INTEREST IN THE PRESERVATION OF RAILWAY LOCOMOTIVES AND ROLLING STOCK, MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT OF HISTORICAL INTEREST AND IN RAILWAYS, LOCOMOTIVES, ROLLING STOCK AND RAILWAY MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT GENERALLY AND ALL APPROPRIATE BOOKS, MANUSCRIPTS, PLANS, MECHANICAL DRAWINGS AND ASSOCIATED ITEMS.
2 TO PROMOTE AND ENCOURAGE THE RETENTION AND PRESERVATION OF ANY HISTORICAL LOCOMOTIVES, ROLLING STOCK, VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT AS AFORESAID BY MUSEUMS, TRANSPORT UNDERTAKINGS AND OTHER PUBLIC BODIES AND INSTITUTIONS AND TO PROVIDE FACILITIES TO ENABLE THE PUBLIC TO OBSERVE SUCH LOCOMOTIVES, ROLLING STOCK, VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT AND TO ASSIST IN THAT PRESERVATION.
