RELIEVE EITHER GENERALLY OR INDIVIDUALLY PERSONS RESIDENT IN NEWARK AND SHERWOOD AND THE SURROUNDING AREA WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS THE PROVISION OF FURNITURE AND OTHER HOUSEHOLD ACCESSORIES CALCULATED TO REDUCE THE NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS OF SUCH PERSONS.
