The Merchant Navy Association is a maritime charity that represents all seafarers in the UK and has the additional benefit of MNA branches in local communities. The objectives remain as stated in our constitution and our activities focus on meeting the needs of the seafaring community, both ashore and afloat, especially in times of hardship, sickness, bereavement and times of conflict.

Charitable objects
2.1 TO RELIEVE AND ASSIST ALL SERVING AND RETIRED SEAFARERS AND THEIR DEPENDANTS WHO ARE IN HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS BY REASON OF POVERTY, DISABILITY, SICKNESS, INFIRMITY OR OTHERWISE; TO SUPPORT THE FAMILIES OF SEAFARERS WHO HAVE LOST THEIR LIVES IN SERVICE OR RETIREMENT. 2.2 TO EDUCATE THE WIDER PUBLIC ON THE ROLE, PURPOSE AND HISTORY OF THE MERCHANT NAVY AND FISHING FLEETS AND TO SUPPORT THOSE INTERESTED IN A CAREER AT SEA.
