Charitable objects
THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE EDUCATION OF THE INHABITANTS OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE AND THE SURROUNDING REGION BY PROMOTING THE STUDY OF LANGUAGE, LITERATURE, PHILOSOPHY, SCIENCE, HISTORY, MUSIC AND THE FINE ARTS BY THE FOLLOWING MEANS: 1) BY PROVING AND MAINTAINING A LIBRARY FOR THE USE OF THE SAID INHABITANTS; 2) BY PROVIDING UNIVERSITY EXTENSION AND OTHER EDUCATIONAL LECTURES AND CLASSES FOR THE SAID INHABITANTS; 3) BY RAISING FUNDS BY CHARGING SUBSCRIPTIONS AND MAKING OTHER CHARGES, SUCH FUNDS TO BE APPLIED EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE PURPOSES OF THE CHARITY; 4) BY SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE MEANS AS THE CHARITY MAY THINK FIT.
