3. OBJECTS THE PURPOSES OF THE CHARITY (THE OBJECTS) ARE: 3.1 TO RELIEVE POVERTY, SICKNESS, DISTRESS OR SUFFERING BY APPROPRIATE CHARITABLE (WHETHER MEDICAL, REHABILITATIVE, FINANCIAL OR OTHER) ASSISTANCE IN ANY PART OF THE UNITED KINGDOM OR ELSEWHERE IN THE WORLD AND IN PARTICULAR (BUT WITHOUT PREJUDICE TO THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING) BY THE PROVISION OF FINANCIAL AID AND/OR DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD, MEDICINE, MEDICAL SUPPLIES, CLOTHING, SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND OTHER ITEMS OF NEED TO CHILDREN WHETHER VICTIMS OF: 3.1.1 BREACHES OF HUMAN RIGHTS; 3.1.2 ANY PUBLIC CALAMITY (INCLUDING FAMINE, EARTHQUAKE OR PESTILENCE); 3.1.3 WAR OR CIVIL DISTURBANCE; 3.1.4 THE IMMEDIATE OR CONTINUING EFFECTS OF LACK OF NATURAL OR OTHER RESOURCES; OR 3.1.5 ANY OTHER CAUSE OF POVERTY DISTRESS OR SUFFERING; 3.2 TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND TO PROMOTE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN ANY PART OF THE UNITED KINGDOM OR ELSEWHERE IN THE WORLD, PARTICULARLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, BY WORKING WITH AND ASSISTING MEMBERS OF LOCAL POPULATIONS TO BUILD VIABLE LIVELIHOODS, ENCOURAGING SELF-RELIANCE AND SUPPORTING SUSTAINABLE PROJECTS INITIATED BY THE INDIGENOUS POPULATION; 3.3 TO RAISE PUBLIC AWARENESS AND ADVANCE PUBLIC EDUCATION HERE IN THE UNITED KINGDOM GENERALLY ABOUT THE EFFECTS OF PUBLIC CALAMITY (INCLUDING FAMINE, EARTHQUAKE OR PESTILENCE), WAR OR CIVIL DISTURBANCE, LACK OF NATURAL OR OTHER RESOURCES AND POVERTY DISTRESS OR SUFFERING AND IN PARTICULAR THE EFFECTS ON CHILDREN; AND 3.4 ANY OTHER PURPOSES DEEMED CHARITABLE UNDER THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES.
