TO BENEFIT THE PUBLIC OF URBAN OR RURAL COMMUNITIES IN AREAS OF SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC DEPRIVATION (AND IN PARTICULAR IN EAST AFRICA) BY THE MAINTENANCE, IMPROVEMENT OR PROVISION OF PUBLIC AMENITIES WITH A CONCENTRATION ON CLEAN WATER SUPPLIES OR BY OTHER EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE MEANS AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL FROM TIME TO TIME DETERMINE. TO PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC BY THE RELIEF OF POVERTY AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE IN SOCIALLY AND DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES THROUGH SUPPORTING OR GENERATING PROJECTS BASED ON SELF-RELIANCE IN EAST AFRICA
