Charitable objects

THE TRUSTEES MUST APPLY THE INCOME OF THE CHARITY IN FURTHERING THE FOLLOWING OBJECTS ("THE OBJECTS"). THE AREA OF BENEFIT IS IN INDIA IN GENERAL AND PARTICULARLY (BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY) IN WEST BENGAL. A) TO RELIEVE SICKNESS AND TO PRESERVE THE HEALTH OF PERSONS SUFFERING FROM THALASSEMIA AND OTHER HAEMOGLOBINOPATHIES, APLASTIC ANAEMIA AND OTHER BLOOD DISORDERS SUCH AS LEUKAEMIA; B) TO PROMOTE AND PROTECT THE PHYSICAL HEALTH OF SUFFERERS OF THALASSEMIA IN INDIA THROUGH THE PROVISION OF: = EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMES, COUNSELLING AND ANTENATAL SCREENING, PRE-NATAL DIAGNOSIS AND COUNSELLING; = THERAPY, EARLY DIAGNOSIS, REGULAR TRANSFUSION AND CHELATION SERVICES, DONOR SEARCH AND ALLOGENIC STEM CELL TRANSPLANTATION FOR SUITABLE PATIENTS; = RESEARCH AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN UMBILICAL CORD BLOOD BANK TO INCREASE THE DONOR POOL FOR PATIENTS WITH THESE DISORDERS; C) TO RELIEVE SICKNESS AND TO PRESERVE THE HEALTH OF THE PATIENTS REQUIRING BONE MARROW TRANSPLANTATION BY PROVIDING OR ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF EQUIPMENT, FACILITIES AND SERVICES; D) TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN HEALTH CARE BY THE PROVISION OF LECTURES, FOR AND BY THE PUBLICATION OF RELEVANT NEWSLETTERS AND MATERIALS.
