To retrain suitably qualified persons following a career break, in any field of research, but predominantly in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through the funding of normally part-time Fellowships in any University or other organisation in which research is undertaken in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland approved by the Trustees in which retraining should normally include both studies to update existing knowledge and a research project
