Charitable objects
THE CHARITY'S OBJECTS ("OBJECTS") ARE SPECIFICALLY RESTRICTED TO THE FOLLOWING: 1. TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY WORKING WITH PEOPLE FROM BLACK AND MINORITY ETHNIC BACKGROUNDS IN THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT DISTRICT OF NOTTINGHAM AND NOTTINGHAMSHIRE GENERALLY (HEREINAFTER CALLED THE "AREA OF BENEFIT") WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED ON THE GROUNDS OF THEIR ETHNIC ORIGIN, RELIGION, BELIEF OR CREED TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF SUCH PEOPLE AND ASSIST THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY, IN PARTICULAR BY: A. PROVIDING SUPPORT, TRAINING AND ADVICE THAT ENCOURAGES AND ENABLES PEOPLE FROM BLACK AND MINORITY ETHNIC BACKGROUNDS TO PARTICIPATE MORE EFFECTIVELY WITH THE WIDER COMMUNITY; B. INCREASING, OR CO-ORDINATING, OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE FROM BLACK AND MINORITY - ETHNIC BACKGROUNDS TO ENGAGE WITH SERVICE PROVIDERS, TO ENABLE THOSE PROVIDERS TO ADAPT SERVICES TO BETTER MEET THE NEEDS OF THOSE PEOPLE; C. RAISING PUBLIC AWARENESS OF ISSUES RELATING TO THE SOCIAL EXCLUSION OF PEOPLE FROM BLACK AND MINORITY ETHNIC BACKGROUNDS. 2. TO PROMOTE BLACK AND MINORITY ETHNIC VOLUNTARY SECTOR ORGANISATIONS IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY, BY: A. PROVIDING A NETWORK GROUP THAT ENCOURAGES AND ENABLES SUCH ORGANISATIONS TO PARTICIPATE MORE EFFECTIVELY AT THE LOCAL AND REGIONAL LEVEL; B. LIAISING BETWEEN SUCH ORGANISATIONS, GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND OTHER GROUPS ON RELEVANT ISSUES; C. SEEKING RESOURCES AND BUILDING THE CAPACITY OF SUCH ORGANISATIONS; AND D. IDENTIFYING THE NEEDS OF SUCH ORGANISATIONS AND ESTABLISHING PROJECTS OR POLICIES TO ADDRESS THEM "VOLUNTARY SECTOR" MEANS CHARITIES AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS. CHARITIES ARE ORGANISATIONS, WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE PURPOSES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES. VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS ARE INDEPENDENT ORGANISATIONS, WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR PURPOSES THAT ADD VALUE TO THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE, OR A SIGNIFICANT SECTION OF THE COMMUNITY, R AND WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED BY THEIR CONSTITUTION TO MAKE A PROFIT FOR PRIVATE DISTRIBUTION. VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS DO NOT INCLUDE LOCAL GOVERNMENT OR OTHER STATUTORY AUTHORITIES.
