Charitable objects

THE CHARITY'S OBJECTS ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE AND ARE TO CARRY ON FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE COMMUNITY (THE "LOCAL COMMUNITY") OF THE LONDON BOROUGH OF ISLINGTON AND SURROUNDING LONDON BOROUGHS (THE "AREA") THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES: (A) TO FURTHER OR BENEFIT THE RESIDENTS OF THE AREA AND THE NEIGHBOURHOOD, WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RACE OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS BY ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE SAID RESIDENTS AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF IMPROVING THE CONDITION OF LIFE FOR RESIDENTS; (B) TO DEVELOP THE CAPACITY AND SKILLS OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITY OF THE AREA IN SUCH A WAY THAT THEY ARE BETTER ABLE TO IDENTIFY, AND HELP MEET, THEIR NEEDS AND PARTICIPATE MORE FULLY IN SOCIETY; (C) THE PROMOTION OF URBAN REGENERATION IN THE AREA BY ANY OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING MEANS: (I) THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION (INCLUDING SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL), TRAINING OR RETRAINING, PARTICULARLY AMONG UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE AND YOUNG PEOPLE; (II) THE MAINTENANCE, IMPROVEMENT OR PROVISION OF PUBLIC AMENITIES, INCLUDING PLAY FACILITIES FOR CHILDREN; AND (III) SUCH OTHER MEANS AS MAY BE DETERMINED FROM TIME TO TIME SUBJECT TO THE PRIOR WRITTEN CONSENT OF THE CHARITY COMMISSIONERS FOR ENGLAND AND WALES; (D) TO ACT AS A RESOURCE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE UP TO THE AGE OF 25 YEARS AND THOSE (OF ANY AGE) WHO ARE UNEMPLOYED LIVING IN THE AREA BY PROVIDING ADVICE AND ASSISTANCE AND ORGANISING PROGRAMMES OF PHYSICAL, EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER ACTIVITIES AS A MEANS OF: (I) ADVANCING IN LIFE AND HELPING YOUNG PEOPLE BY DEVELOPING THEIR SKILLS, CAPACITIES AND CAPABILITIES TO ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY AS INDEPENDENT MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUALS; (II) ADVANCING EDUCATION FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AND ADULTS; (III) RELIEVING UNEMPLOYMENT; (E) THE PROVISION OF RECREATIONAL FACILITIES FOR THE PUBLIC AT LARGE OR THOSE WHO BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY OR DISABLEMENT, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES.
