TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF SURGEONS BY PUBLISHING FEEDBACK ON THE CAUSES OF ADVERSE INCIDENTS AND NEAR MISSES INVOLVING SURGERY THROUGH A CONFIDENTIAL REPORTING SYSTEM FOR THE COLLECTION OF SAFETY RELATED ISSUES, TO ANALYSE AND IDENTIFY TRENDS AND TO ADVISE INTERESTED BODIES ON ISSUES RELEVANT TO SURGICAL SAFETY WITH THE AIM TO IMPROVE PATIENT SAFETY.
