Charitable objects
THE CHARITY'S OBJECTS ARE TO PROVIDE HELP AND SUPPORT FOR ADULTS WITH MILD TO MODERATE MENTAL HEALTH DIFFICULTIES IN THE CITY OF PLYMOUTH, BY: 1) DELIVERING HIGH QUALITY HELP AND SUPPORT TO OUR MEMBERS WITHIN THE LOCAL AND NATIONAL GUIDELINES OF MENTAL HEALTH WHILST FOLLOWING THE PRINCIPLES OF GOOD PRACTICE, THUS ENSURING AN ENVIRONMENT OF PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL SAFETY. 2) OFFERING STIMULATION THROUGH A WIDE VARIETY OF EDUCATIONAL, RECREATIONAL AND LEISURE OPPORTUNITIES THEREBY ENCOURAGING THE DEVELOPMENT OF PERSONAL AND SOCIAL SKILLS. 3) ENSURING ALL MEMBERS FEEL WELCOME AND VALUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES POLICY WITH AN AWARENESS OF THE RECOGNISED COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE, AND THE OPPORTUNITY TO BE INVOLVED IN THE DEVELOPMENT AND DECISION MAKING OF THE CHARITY. 4) INFORMING ALL OF THE IMPLICATIONS OF THE DISABILITY DISCRIMINATION ACT (1995, AMENDED 2005). 5) CHALLENGING DISCRIMINATION, PREJUDICE AND STIGMA BY ENDEAVOURING TO INCREASE THE WIDER COMMUNITY UNDERSTANDING OF MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. 6) OBSERVING CONFIDENTIALITY WITHIN THE LOCAL AND NATIONAL GUIDELINES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE DATA PROTECTION ACT (1998).
