THE OBJECTS ARE TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE FIELD OF GEOLOGY AND TO PROMOTE RESEARCH IN GEOLOGY AND ALLIED SCIENCES, MORE SPECIFICALLY IN AND AROUND THE BARNSLEY, DONCASTER, ROTHERHAM, PEAK DISTRICT AND SHEFFIELD CITY REGION OF ENGLAND, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY ORGANISING GUIDED GEOLOGICAL WALKS, INCREASING THE KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF EARTH SCIENCES, GEOLOGY, GEOMORPHOLOGY, GEODIVERSITY AND LANDSCAPE, EXHIBITIONS AND DISPLAYS AND PROMOTING THE RECORDING AND CONSERVATION OF SITES OF GEOLOGICAL INTEREST.
