Best Chances is a socio-economic focussed charity, with the aim of offering individuals and groups a best chance to bridge to opportunity and a brighter future. The emphasis is on supporting young people and others within the community to develop the skills and experience to flourish and optimise their potential, and then to reinvest some of what they have learnt back into the community.

Charitable objects
TO PROVIDE SUPPORT, BOTH FINANCIAL AND PRACTICAL TO GIFTED AND TALENTED YOUNG PEOPLE BETWEEN THE AGES OF 11-25 YEARS, BY PROVIDING ADVICE, ASSISTANCE AND ORGANISING PROGRAMMES OF EDUCATIONAL AND OTHER ACTIVITIES AS A MEANS OF ADVANCING IN LIFE AND HELPING THOSE YOUNG PEOPLE DEVELOP THEIR SKILLS, CAPACITIES AND CAPABILITIES TO ENABLE THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN SOCIETY AS INDEPENDENT, MATURE AND RESPONSIBLE INDIVIDUALS; INITIALLY IN GREATER EDGBASTON AREA IN BIRMINGHAM, AS DEFINED BY THE PARLIAMENTARY CONSTITUENCY BOUNDARY AND THEN THROUGH DEVELOPMENT ON A WIDER, AND THEN NATIONAL BASIS. IN THESE OBJECTS, 'GIFTED AND TALENTED' MEANS CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WITH AN ABILITY TO DEVELOP TO A LEVEL SIGNIFICANTLY AHEAD OF THEIR YEAR GROUP (OR WITH THE POTENTIAL TO DEVELOP THOSE ABILITIES): * 'GIFTED' LEARNERS ARE THOSE WHO HAVE ABILITIES IN ONE OR MORE ACADEMIC SUBJECTS, LIKE MATHEMATICS AND ENGLISH * 'TALENTED' LEARNERS ARE THOSE WHO HAVE PRACTICAL SKILLS IN AREAS LIKE SPORT, MUSIC, DESIGN OR CREATIVE AND PERFORMING ARTS
