1 TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT THE HEALTH OF PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES IN THE CANCER UNITS AT ST THOMAS HOSPITAL AND SIMILAR CANCER FACILITIES IN THE UK BY PROVIDING AND ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES, SUPPORT SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT NOT NORMALLY PROVIDED BY THE STATUTORY AUTHORITIES. 2 TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE CAUSES, DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF BOWEL CANCER BY THE PROVISION OF GRANTS AND SUCH OTHER SUPPORT AS THE TRUSTEES MAY DETERMINE TO CHARITIES AND TO ORGANISATIONS CARRYING OUT CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES IN THIS AREA
