Charitable objects

A. TO PROMOTE ANY CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE BLACK AND ETHNIC MINORITY COMMUNITIES (BEMC) IN THE COUNTY OF ESSEX (HEREINAFTER CALLED "THE AREA OF BENEFIT") AND, IN PARTICULAR, THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION, THE RELIEF OF UNEMPLOYMENT, THE PROMOTION OF GOOD HEALTH, THE PROMOTION OF RACIAL HARMONY AND THE RELIEF OF THOSE IN FINANCIAL NEED, HARDSHIP AND DISTRESS; B. TO PROMOTE AND ORGANISE CO-OPERATION IN THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE ABOVE PURPOSES AND TO THAT END TO BRING TOGETHER ESSEX COUNCIL, REPRESENTATIVES OF LOCAL VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS AND OTHER STATUTORY BODIES WITHIN THE AREA OF BENEFIT; PROVIDED THAT IN CARRYING OUT THESE CHARITABLE PURPOSES, THE MANAGEMENT BOARD WILL SEEK TO CHALLENGE ALL FORMS OF OPPRESSION AND INEQUALITY AND .TO GIVE PRIORITY TO WORKING WITH BEMC MEMBERS WHOSE FULL PARTICIPATION IN SOCIETY IS LIMITED BY ECONOMIC, POLITICAL AND SOCIAL DISADVANTAGE.
