The Trust's main goal is to establish, develop and operate a public centre in the Lake District, dedicated to the life and works of Arthur Ransome, who is best known today as the author of the 12 Swallows and Amazons novels. The Trust provides exhibitions, displays and lectures in Cumbria and throughout the UK. It is also researching educational study materials related to Ransome.
