Activities - how the charity spends its money
The Friends of Thetford Dad's Army Museum runs the Dad's Army Museum in Thetford which provides displays about the BBC TV programme and its links to the Thetford area as well as the Home Guard. In addition the Friends seek to participate in events and projects that will raise the profile of the Museum, one such project was the erection of a statue of Captain Mainwaring in Thetford in 2010.

Charitable objects
THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION ABOUT THE TELEVISION PROGRAMME DAD'S ARMY, THE HOME GUARD AND THETFORD'S MILITARY CONNECTIONS FOR THE INHABITANTS AND VISITORS TO THETFORD, NORFOLK AND THE SURROUNDING AREA. IN FURTHERANCE OF THESE OBJECTS THE FRIENDS WILL; A) PROMOTE THETFORD'S LINK WITH DAD'S ARMY THROUGH OPERATING THE THETFORD DAD'S ARMY MUSEUM AND ORGANISING OTHER RELATED EVENTS AND MEMORIALS THAT FROM TIME TO TIME MAY ARISE. B) ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC AT LARGE ABOUT THE PROGRAMME, THETFORD AND THE AREA'S MILITARY CONNECTIONS THROUGH PROVIDING INFORMATION, DISPLAYS AND SOURCES OF REFERENCE. C) IN FURTHERANCE OF THE ABOVE OBJECTS, BUT NOT OTHERWISE, THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING POWERS ; (1) TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE FRIENDS AND TO INVITE AND RECEIVE CONTRIBUTIONS FROM ANY PERSON OR PERSONS WHATSOEVER BY WAY OF SUBSCRIPTION, DONATION OR OTHERWISE. (2) TO DO ALL SUCH OTHER LAWFUL THINGS CONSIDERED NECESSARY FOR THE ATTAINMENT OF THE OBJECTIVES.
