(1) TO PROMOTE THE HUMAN RIGHTS ARISING UNDER OR BY VIRTUE OF THE HUMAN RIGHTS ACT 1998 AND THE PROMOTION OF THE CONVENTION RIGHTS AS DEFINED BY S1 HUMAN RIGHTS ACT 1998, INCLUDING THE ELIMINATION OF THE INFRINGEMENT OF THOSE RIGHTS HELD BY THE LGBT COMMUNITY AND THE PROMOTION OF EFFECTIVE REMEDIES FOLLOWING ANY SUCH INFRINGEMENT FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC; AND (2) TO PROMOTE EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND ELSEWHERE IN THE WORLD BY THE ELIMINATION OF DISCRIMINATION ON THE GROUNDS OF SEXUAL ORIENTATION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC.
