Charitable objects
THE TRUSTEES SHALL HOLD THE TRUST FUND AND ITS INCOME UPON TRUST TO PAY OR APPLY IT IN SUCH MANNER AS THE TRUSTEES IN THEIR DISCRETION THINK FIT FOR ANY PURPOSES THROUGHOUT THE WORLD WHICH ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE ACCORDING TO THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES, IN PARTICULAR FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES IN RESPECT OF PEOPLE IN THE NORTH-EAST OF ENGLAND: ADVANCING EDUCATION AND PREVENTING OR RELIEVING POVERTY, INCLUDING BY ENABLING THE UNEMPLOYED, PARTICULARLY YOUNG PEOPLE, TO RECEIVE ADVICE AND TRAINING WITH THE AIM OF GETTING THEM INTO EMPLOYMENT, EDUCATION, SELF-EMPLOYMENT, TRAINING OR VOLUNTEERING; THE RELIEF OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, SICKNESS OR POOR HEALTH BY MAKING GRANTS OF MONEY FOR PROVIDING OR PAYING FOR ITEMS SERVICES OR FACILITIES; AND PROVIDING OR ASSISTING WITH THE PROVISION OF (FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC OR OF A SUFFICIENT SECTION OF THE PUBLIC AND IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE) FACILITIES FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE-TIME OCCUPATION
