Charitable objects
"THE OBJECTS OF THE COLLECTION ARE TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC BY THE PROVISION OF A COLLECTION DEDICATED TO RECORDING AND EXHIBITING ALL ASPECTS OF FLIGHT AND FLIGHT TESTING AT BOSCOMBE DOWN THEREBY PRESERVING ITS HERITAGE FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS". PLEASE NOTE THE COLLECTION IS IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING FROM A SECURE MOD ESTABLISHMENT TO OLD SARUM AIRFIELD WHERE THE COLLECTION WILL BE COMPLETELY OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. THE COLLECTION WILL THEN BROADEN ITS BASE TO COVER ALL THE AVIATION HERITAGE IN THE SALISBURY AND SALISBURY PLAIN AREA. BRITISH MILITARY AVIATION STARTED IN 1909 AT LARKHILL ON SALISBURY PLAIN WITH BOSCOMBE DOWN AND OLD SARUM STARTING IN 1917. ALL THESE ESTABLISHMENTS CONTINUE IN OPERATION TO THIS DAY.
