THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY ARE TO MAINTAIN AND MANAGE A SCHOOL FOR THE PURPOSE OF EDUCATING POOR CHILDREN INHABITANTS OF THE CHAPELRY OF DOWNHAM IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PRINCIPLES OF THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION ACCORDING TO THE DOCTRINES AND DISCIPLINE OF THE ESTABLISHED CHURCH OF ENGLAND AND IRELAND AND IN OTHER USEFUL KNOWLEDGE UPON AND IN CONFORMITY WITH SYSTEM AND RULES OF THE INCORPORATED NATIONAL SCHOOL SOCIETY
