Charitable objects
THE CHARITY OBJECTS (THE OBJECTS) ARE: 5(1) TO PROMOTE ANY CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY THE SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED MEMBERS OF THE WIDER PORTUGUESE SPEAKING COMMUNITIES (SOMETIMES CALLED PALOP OR LUSOFONIA OR LUSOPHONE), AND PRINCIPALLY BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY IN THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREAS OF ENGLAND AND WALES, AND IN FURTHERING SUCH TO PROVIDE THEM WITH THE NECESSARY SUPPORT, INFORMATION AND SERVICES TO ENABLE THEM TO FULFIL THEIR POTENTIAL OR CONTRIBUTE TO THE SOCIETY THEY LIVE-IN; 5(2) TO RELIEVE NEED, HARDSHIP AND DISTRESS OF THE PALOP OR LUSOPHONE OR LUSOFONIA COMMUNITIES, AND OTHER COMMUNITIES, PARTICULARLY NEWLY ARRIVED REFUGEES AND MIGRANTS, ESPECIALLY BY THE PROVISION OF LANGUAGE SERVICES AND INFORMATION, ADVICE AND GUIDANCE AND ADVOCACY REGARDING MATTERS SUCH AS IMMIGRATION AND ASYLUM, SOCIAL AND WELFARE RIGHTS, HEALTH, HOUSING, COMMUNITY INTEGRATION AND SOCIAL COHESION, EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT; 5(3) THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE OF THOSE PERSONS WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY OR DISABLEMENT, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, POVERTY OR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES OR FOR THE PUBLIC AT LARGE IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND WITHIN THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE OF SAID PERSONS; 5(4) THE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF HEALTH BY PROVISION OF COUNSELLING AND ADVICE ON HEALTH ISSUES.
