The Charity was developed and launched by its three trustees Gillingham FC Chairman Paul Scally, The Evelina Children?s Hospital?s Paediatric Heart Surgeon Dr Conal Austin and Paediatric Cardiology Consultant Dr John Simpson in 2012 The newly formed charity encompasses the work of Mercy Mission which was started in 2001, and acquired charity status in 2005.

Charitable objects
5.1,1 TO RELIEVE THE SICKNESS OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WITH CONGENITAL HEART DISEASE, IN SRI LANKA AND SUCH OTHER COUNTRIES AS THE DIRECTORS MAY FROM TIME TO TIME DECIDE, BY THE PROVISION OF (I) AN EXPERT TEAM OF PAEDIATRIC CARDIAC SURGICAL, CARDIOLOGICAL, ANAESTHETIC AND INTENSIVE CARE PHYSICIANS AND NURSES TO PERFORM COMPLEX OPERATIONS AND (II) FUNDING TO PAY FOR CARDIAC MEDICAL (AND RELATED) EQUIPMENT/SUPPLIES; 5.1.2 TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF MEDICAL STAFF, IN SRI LANKA AND SUCH OTHER COUNTRIES AS THE DIRECTORS MAY FROM TIME TO TIME DECIDE, BY THE PROVISION OF TRAINING, ADVICE AND GUIDANCE IN PAEDIATRIC CARDIAC CARE.
