ST GEORGE'S CRYPT PROVIDES PRACTICAL CARE AND SUPPORT FOR HOMELESS, DESTITUTE AND DISADVANTAGED PEOPLE. IT OPERATES IN THE LEEDS AREA. THE CRYPT RUNS ONE HOSTEL FOR PEOPLE WITH A BACKGROUND OF ADDICTION; IT ALSO PROMOTES A PROGRAMME OF TRAINING AND ENGAGEMENT AND ACTIVELY PROMOTES RESETTLEMENT. THE CRYPT IS A FAITH-BASED CHARITY.THE CHARITY ALSO RUNS THREE SHOPS .

Charitable expenditure
Some charities generate all, or a substantial part, of their income from investments which may have been donated to the charity as endowment or set aside by the charity from its own resources in the past. Such investments usually take the form of stocks and shares but may include other assets, such as property, that are capable of generating income and/or capital growth.
In managing their spending and investments charities need to strike a balance between the needs of future and current beneficiaries. They also need to take account of spending commitments that may stretch over a number of future years. To do this, charities will normally adopt an investment strategy designed to generate both income and capital growth. To maximise returns trustees may commit to investment strategies for several years.
Investments can experience large swings in value so trustees may, in a particular year, decide to realise and spend part of their charity’s capital or to invest part of its income.

3.1 WITH A VIEW TO ADVANCING THE ORIGINAL PURPOSE AND DESIRE OF THE REVEREND PERCY DONALD ROBINS IN FOUNDING ST GEORGE'S CRYPT THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY ARE: 3.1.1. THE PROMOTION OF EVANGELISM AMONG NEEDY AND DESTITUTE PERSONS ANYWHERE AND IN PARTICULAR IN THE CITY OF LEEDS 3.1.2. THE RELIEF OF POVERTY HARDSHIP SICKNESS AND DISTRESS AMONG NEEDY AND DESTITUTE PERSONS ANYWHERE AND IN PARTICULAR IN THE CITY OF LEEDS 3.1.3. TO MAINTAIN THE CRYPT OF ST GEORGE'S CHURCH, LEEDS AS A REST ROOM AND SHELTER FOR THE PERSONS REFERRED TO IN ARTICLE 3.1.1 AND 3.1.2 AND TO PURCHASE ADAPT ALTER AND IMPROVE SUCH OTHER PREMISES FOR THE SAME PURPOSES AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL THINK FIT.
