Masham Town Hall was opened in 1913 to provide recreational, educational, social welfare, artistic and sporting opportunities, and a venue for meetings and public gatherings, for the people of Mashamshire. The Community Charity maintains and improves the Masham Town Hall building to offer the widest possible range of such opportunities.

Charitable objects
TO PROMOTE THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF MASHAMSHIRE BY WORKING WITH LOCAL VOLUNTARY AND COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS, INHABITANTS AND OTHER AUTHORITIES IN A COMMON EFFORT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE SAID INHABITANTS, WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF AGE, DISABILITY, NATIONALITY, RACE, SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS. IN PARTICLUAR, BUT WITHOUT IN ANY WAY LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING, TO MAINTAIN AND MANAGE THE TOWN HALL AS A CENTRE WHEREAT SUCH FACILTIES MAY BE PROVIDED.
