The Road to Recovery Trust promotes the principle of 12 step recovery for the benefit of individuals and the wider community. It was established by individuals inspired by the transformative effects of recovery in their own lives and in the lives of others, in order to use their experience to develop a full range of recovery services.

Charitable objects
(A) THE RELIEF AND REHABILITATION OF THOSE WHO ARE SUFFERING AS A RESULT OF ADDICTION OR COMPULSIVE DISORDER, IN PARTICULAR THROUGH PROMOTING ACCESS TO AND TAKE-UP OF THE 12 STEP RECOVERY PROGRAMME; (B) THE PRESERVATION AND PROTECTION OF THE PHYSICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH OF SUCH PERSONS AND THEIR FAMILIES AND CARERS BY PROVIDING INFORMATION AND SUPPORT; (C) THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION AMONGST THE PUBLIC SO AS TO PREVENT THE MISUSE OF OR ADDICTION TO ALCOHOL, DRUGS, OR OTHER ADDICTIVE SUBSTANCES.
