The Chris Shoesmith Global Foundation helps both backpackers and their families, we do this by giving honest help and advice as to any dangers that can be encountered whilst travelling. We also assist backpackers and their families should something go wrong such as; muggings, loss of any possessions, missing persons abroad and also bereavements.

1) TO HELP RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF RELATIVES OF PEOPLE RESIDENT IN THE UNITED KINGDOM IN RELATION TO A RELATIVE WHO HAS OR IS THOUGHT TO HAVE DIED, BEEN INJURED, BECOME SICK OR GONE MISSING WHILST ABROAD BY THE PROVISION OF ADVICE, GUIDANCE AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO THOSE WHO CAN NOT AFFORD TO: A) TRAVEL TO THE LOCATION WHERE THEIR RELATIVE DIED, WAS INJURED, BECAME SICK OR WENT MISSING; OR B) FOR THE REPATRIATION TO THE UNITED KINGDOM OF THE RELATIVE OR THE RELATIVEÔÇÖS BODY. 2) THE PROTECTION AND PRESERVATION OF LIFE OF PEOPLE RESIDENT IN THE UNITED KINGDOM WHILE TRAVELLING ABROAD BY THE PROVISION OF ADVICE IN RELATION TO HEALTH AND SAFETY MATTERS GENERALLY AND IN PARTICULAR IN RELATION TO THE DANGERS FROM NATURAL HAZARDS AND ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN BY SUCH TRAVELLERS IN AREAS ABROAD WHICH ARE FREQUENTLY TRAVELLED TO BY PEOPLE RESIDENT IN THE UNITED KINGDOM AND BY PROVIDING ASSISTANCE TO IMPROVE THE SAFETY OF SUCH AREAS ABROAD.
