Sight Advice South Lakes supports visually impaired people to improve the quality of their lives and promotes a greater awareness of sight issues. We provide practical and emotional support to visually impaired people and their families and carers. We also support visually impaired people to access social support and activities and take advantage of the opportunities and benefits of ICT.

Charitable objects
FOR THE BENEFIT OF THOSE PERSONS WHO ARE VISUALLY IMPAIRED BEING THOSE PEOPLE WITH AN IMPAIRMENT OF VISUAL FUNCTION FOR WHICH FULL REMEDIATION IS NOT POSSIBLE BY CONVENTIONAL SPECTACLES, CONTACT LENSES OR MEDICAL INTERVENTION AND WHICH CAUSES RESTRICTION IN THAT PERSONS EVERYDAY LIFE IN PARTICULAR BY: 1. SUPPORTING PEOPLE WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENT AND IN PARTICULAR THOSE PEOPLE WITH A VISUAL IMPAIRMENT WITHIN THE ADMINISTRATIVE AREA OF THE PART OF THE FORMER COUNTY OF WESTMORLAND AS IS NOW COMPRISED WITHIN THE AREA OF SOUTH LAKELAND DISTRICT COUNCIL AND NEIGHBOURING AREAS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF THEIR LIVES. 2. PROVIDING INFORMATION AND SUPPORT TO VISUALLY IMPAIRED PEOPLE AND TO THEIR FAMILIES AND CARERS. 3. PROVIDING VISUALLY IMPAIRED PEOPLE WITH SOCIAL SUPPORT AND ACTIVITIES. 4. HELPING VISUALLY IMPAIRED PEOPLE TO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY 5. PROMOTING AWARENESS OF SIGHT ISSUES ON BEHALF OF VISUALLY IMPAIRED PEOPLE 6. DOING AL SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE THINGS THAT SHALL FURTHER THE ATTAINMENT OF THE OBJECTS
