Activities - how the charity spends its money
The Trust will advance the public education about the old railway line of the Garrett engineering works in Leiston by restoring and preserving part of line and running railway vehicles drawn by horses or locomotives, including the historic steam shunting locomotive "Sirapite". The trust will have open days providing demonstrations, activities and written, graphic and oral information.

Charitable objects
TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE SUBJECT OF THE HISTORIC RAILWAY LINE WHICH WAS OWNED AND OPERATED BY RICHARD GARRETT ENGINEERING LIMITED AND ITS PREDECESSOR COMPANIES AT ITS WORKS IN THE TOWN OF LEISTON IN SUFFOLK, IN PARTICULAR BY: (I) THE RESTORATION AND PRESERVATION OF PART OF THE RAILWAY LINE, (II) THE RUNNING ALONG IT OF RAILWAY VEHICLES DRAWN BY HORSES OR LOCOMOTIVES INCLUDING THE HISTORIC STEAM SHUNTING LOCOMOTIVE "SIRAPITE" WHICH WAS USED ON THE RAILWAY IN THE EARLIER PART OF THE 20TH CENTURY AND WHICH HAS RECENTLY BEEN RESTORED TO WORKING ORDER AT THE NEIGHBOURING LONG SHOP MUSEUM OF THE LONG SHOP PROJECT TRUST (III) THE PROVISION OF WRITTEN, GRAPHIC AND ORAL INFORMATION FOR VISITORS OR THOSE ATTENDING PRESENTATIONS HELD FOR THAT PURPOSE.
