THE TRUSTEES SHALL HOLD THE CAPITAL AND INCOME OF THE TRUST FUND UPON TRUST TO APPLY THE INCOME AND ALL OR SUCH PART OR PARTS OF THE CAPITAL FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AT SUCH TIME OR TIMES AND IN SUCH MANNER AS THE TRUSTEES MAY IN THEIR ABSOLUTE DISCRETION THINK FIT FOR OR TOWARDS THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION AND THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE ARTS, CULTURE, HISTORY, HERITAGE OR SCIENCE AT OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SMITHSONIAN TO ENABLE AND ENCOURAGE THE INCREASE AND DIFFUSION OF KNOWLEDGE WORLDWIDE.
