The organisation is responsible for the management of an open age band and a youth band. Each year the bands perform at local and regional venues, taking part in twenty to thirty concerts, including a number for charity. The organisation delivers ab inito teaching for young people wishing to learn to play a brass instrument.

TO PROMOTE, IMPROVE, DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN PUBLIC EDUCATION AND APPRECIATION OF THE ART OF BRASS MUSIC IN ALL ITS ASPECTS BY THE PRESENTATION OF PUBLIC CONCERTS, BY THE PROMOTION OF MUSIC FESTIVALS AND COMPETITIONS, AND BY SUCH OTHER WAYS AS THE ORGANISATION THROUGH ITS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE SHALL DETERMINE FROM TIME TO TIME. TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE TO LEARN TO PLAY BRASS INSTRUMENTS, AND TO MAKE MUSIC.
