Activities - how the charity spends its money
The provision of great childcare on a not for profit basis, which utilises the beautiful natural surroundings at Sunflowers at Grafton. This includes nursery care for babies and children to 5 years, from 8am to 6pm for 51 weeks; out of school care for primary school children, specifically breakfast, after school and holiday clubs; and daily school transport to one of our local primary schools.

Charitable expenditure
Some charities generate all, or a substantial part, of their income from investments which may have been donated to the charity as endowment or set aside by the charity from its own resources in the past. Such investments usually take the form of stocks and shares but may include other assets, such as property, that are capable of generating income and/or capital growth.
In managing their spending and investments charities need to strike a balance between the needs of future and current beneficiaries. They also need to take account of spending commitments that may stretch over a number of future years. To do this, charities will normally adopt an investment strategy designed to generate both income and capital growth. To maximise returns trustees may commit to investment strategies for several years.
Investments can experience large swings in value so trustees may, in a particular year, decide to realise and spend part of their charity’s capital or to invest part of its income.

Charitable objects
TO ENHANCE THE DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION OF CHILDREN UNDER STATUTORY SCHOOL AGE AND OF PRIMARY SCHOOL AGE BY ENCOURAGING PARENTS TO UNDERSTAND AND PROVIDE FOR THE NEEDS OF THEIR CHILDREN AND BY: (A) OFFERING APPROPRIATE PLAY, EDUCATION AND CARE FACILITIES WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF A WELCOMING AND HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT AND ENSURING PROVISION OF OPPORTUNITIES FOR ALL CHILDREN REGARDLESS OF THEIR RACE, CULTURE, RELIGION, MEANS OR ABILITY; (B) PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PARENTS AND MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITY TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR, AND TO BECOME INVOLVED IN, SUCH ACTIVITIES; (C) WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH PARENTS, ORGANISATIONS, PROFESSIONALS AND THE LOCAL COMMUNITY TO ENSURE THE NEEDS OF CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES ARE MET; AND (D) ADVANCING THE EDUCATION AND TRAINING OF STAFF IN THE PROVISION OF SUCH PLAY, EDUCATION AND CARE FACILITIES AS DESCRIBED ABOVE.
