Activities - how the charity spends its money
The period April 2014 to March 2015 has been a year of intense activity- SMEF has consolidated its governance structures, increased the reach of its work, developed new projects and continued to raise the voice of ethnic communities in Surrey. We have amply met our charitable objectives by supporting our diverse membership of 54 ethnic community groups to remain active and engaged citizens.

Charitable objects
TO PROMOTE SOCIAL INCLUSION FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY WORKING WITH PEOPLE IN SURREY AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED ON THE GROUNDS OF BEING MEMBERS OF THE COMMUNITIES AND RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF SUCH PEOPLE AND ASSIST THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY, IN PARTICULAR BY: PROVIDING ASSISTANCE TO ETHNIC MINORITY AND VOLUNTARY GROUPS, ACTING AS A FORUM FOR SUCH GROUPS, AND MAKING REPRESENTATIONS CONCERNING ETHNIC MINORITY COMMUNITIES TO LOCAL AUTHORITIES AND SERVICE PROVIDERS.
