Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT THROUGHOUT THE WORLD: (I) THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION; (II) THE ADVANCEMENT OF MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH AND THE SAVING OF LIVES; (III) THE RELIEF OF POVERTY AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE IN SOCIALLY AND ECONOMICALLY DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES; AND (IV) THE PROMOTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND THE PROMOTION OF EQUALITY AND DIVERSITY, IN PARTICULAR BUT WITHOUT LIMITATION SO AS TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS OF PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED BY ASSISTING THEM TO INTEGRATE INTO SOCIETY. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THE PRECEDING CLAUSE: (I) HUMAN RIGHTS MEANS HUMAN RIGHTS AS DEFINED IN THE UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND SUBSEQUENT UNITED NATIONS CONVENTIONS AND DECLARATIONS AND WILL BE PROMOTED IN PARTICULAR BY EDUCATION ABOUT HUMAN RIGHTS AND PROMOTING RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS; (II) PEOPLE WHO ARE SOCIALLY EXCLUDED MEANS PEOPLE WHO ARE EXCLUDED FROM SOCIETY, OR PARTS OF SOCIETY, AS A RESULT OF ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING FACTORS: FINANCIAL HARDSHIP; YOUTH OR OLD AGE; ILL HEALTH (PHYSICAL OR MENTAL); DISABILITY OR MEDICAL CONDITION; DISCRIMINATION ON THE GROUNDS OF SEX, RACE, ETHNIC ORIGIN, RELIGION, COLOUR, CREED OR SEXUALITY; POOR EDUCATION OR SKILLS ATTAINMENT
