1) THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY IN EAST KENT BY THE PROVISION OF GRANTS, ITEMS AND ASSISTANCE TO INDIVIDUALS IN NEED AND/OR CHARITIES, OR OTHER ORGANISATIONS WORKING TO PREVENT OR RELIEVE POVERTY, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY MAKING EMERGENCY GRANTS TO RELIEVE POVERTY OR DISTRESS ARISING FROM DISASTERS OCCURRING IN EAST KENT OR TO RELIEVE POVERTY OR DISTRESS ARISING FROM DISASTERS OCCURRING INSIDE OR OUTSIDE EAST KENT AFFECTING THOSE PERSONS RESIDING OR WORKING IN EAST KENT. 2) SUCH CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AS ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE ACCORDING TO THE LAWS OF ENGLAND AND WALES AS THE TRUSTEES MAY FROM TIME TO TIME DETERMINE.
