Dacortium aims to improve the quality of life of local people, especially those who are disadvantaged or vulnerable by delivering high quality, cost-effective services in a consistent, co-ordinated and co-operative manner. Charitable objects
3.2 THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY ('THE OBJECTS') ARE: 3.2.1 TO PROMOTE EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS IN THE CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES OF NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANISATIONS, VOLUNTARY GROUPS AND CHARITIES OPERATING IN THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA OF DACORUM AND ELSEWHERE ("THE AREA OF BENEFIT"); 3.2.2 TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION FOR PUBLIC BENEFIT OF THOSE INVOLVED WITH VOLUNTARY AND NOT-FOR-PROFIT SECTOR ORGANISATIONS OPERATING IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT 3.3 PROVIDED THAT IN THE OBJECTS, 3.3.1 "VOLUNTARY SECTOR" IS DEFINED AS CHARITIES AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS; 3.3.2 "CHARITIES" ARE ORGANISATIONS, WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE PURPOSES IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES. 3.3.3 "NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANISATIONS" ARE INDEPENDENT ORGANISATIONS WHICH ARE ESTABLISHED FOR PURPOSES THAT ADD VALUE TO THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE, OR A SIGNIFICANT SECTION OF THE COMMUNITY, AND WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED BY THEIR CONSTITUTION TO MAKE A PROFIT FOR PRIVATE DISTRIBUTION. VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS DO NOT INCLUDE LOCAL GOVERNMENT OR OTHER STATUTORY ORGANISATIONS.
