Charitable objects
3.1 THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY (OBJECTS) ARE THE ADVANCEMENT OF SUCH OBJECTS OR PURPOSES WHICH ARE EXCLUSIVELY CHARITABLE ACCORDING TO THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC IN ANY PART OF THE WORLD BUT IN PARTICULAR IN BRISTOL AND THE SURROUNDING AREA (SUCH AREA TO BE DETERMINED BY THE TRUSTEES) IN SUCH MANNER AS THE TRUSTEES MAY IN THEIR ABSOLUTE DISCRETION THINK FIT BUT IN PARTICULAR BY SUPPORTING, ADVISING AND PROVIDING FACILITIES FOR THOSE WHO ORGANISE (AND ORGANISING) FESTIVALS, CONFERENCES AND OTHER EVENTS WHICH ADVANCE ALL OR ANY OF SUCH CHARITABLE OBJECTS OR PURPOSES. 3.2 IN THESE ARTICLES, "CHARITABLE" MEANS CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES PROVIDED THAT IT WILL NOT INCLUDE ANY PURPOSE WHICH IS NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND / OR SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008. FOR THE AVOIDANCE OF DOUBT, THE SYSTEM OF LAW GOVERNING THE CONSTITUTION OF THE CHARITY IS THE LAW OF ENGLAND AND WALES.
