Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE, WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RACE OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS, TO PROMOTE THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF NEW MOSTON AND NEIGHBOURHOOD ("AREA OF BENEFIT") AND IN PARTICULAR THE PROMOTION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT BY: 3.1.1 ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE RESIDENTS OF THE AREA OF BENEFIT AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION OR THE ARTS, TO FURTHER HEALTH, PROVIDE HOUSING OR EMPLOYMENT, RELIEVE POVERTY, HOMELESSNESS, DISTRESS OR SICKNESS OR PRESERVE HISTORIC BUILDINGS AND IN DOING SO PROVIDE OR ASSIST IN THE PROVISION OF COMMUNITY FACILITIES OR SERVICES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE, WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE RESIDENTS OF THE AREA OF BENEFIT; (I) IN FURTHERANCE OF THIS OBJECT BUT NOT OTHERWISE, THE TRUSTEES SHALL HAVE POWER TO MAINTAIN AND MANAGE COMMUNITY FACILITIES AND TO MAINTAIN OR MANAGE OR CO-OPERATE WITH ANY STATUTORY AUTHORITY IN THE MAINTENANCE AND MANAGEMENT OF SUCH FACILITIES FOR ACTIVITIES PROMOTED BY THE CHARITY IN FURTHERANCE OF THE ABOVE OBJECTS; AND 3.1.2 PROMOTING SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE RESIDENTS OF THE AREA OF BENEFIT AS MAY FROM TIME TO TIME BE DETERMINED.
