Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO IS ARE • TO PROMOTE THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS, IN PARTICULAR THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY IN AND AROUND SOHO HILL AND WIDER BIRMINGHAM WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RACE OR OF POLITICAL RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS, BY ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE SAID HABITANTS AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN THE COMMON EFFORT TO ADVANCE THE MUSLIM FAITH; • TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL SERVICES AND FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND OTHER LEISURE-TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE SAID INHABITANTS; • TO ESTABLISH OR SECURE THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE CHARITY AND TO MAINTAIN AND MANAGE THE SAME, WHETHER ALONG OR IN CO-OPERATION WITH ANY LOCAL AUTHORITY, VOLUNTARY OR OTHER PERSON IN FURTHERANCE OF THE ABOVE OBJECTS. • TO CARRY ON SUCH OTHER CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES TO THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE MUSLIM FAITH AS THE CHARITY MAY DETERMINE; NOTHING IN THIS CONSTITUTION SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CIO FOR THE PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH [SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005] AND [SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008].
