FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT TO PROMOTE THE EDUCATION OF CHILDREN IN AND AROUND CHARD IN SUCH WAYS AS THE DIRECTORS THINK FIT, INCLUDING BY:1.THE PROVISION AND CONDUCT OF A DAY OR DAY AND BOARDING SCHOOL FOR GIRLS AND BOYS AT THE PREMISES KNOWN AS CHARD SCHOOL OR ELSEWHERE(THE SCHOOL);2.FOR SUCH TIME AS THE SCHOOL ACCEPTS CHILDREN ON A FEE-PAYING BASIS,THE PROVISION OF SCHOLARSHIPS,BURSARIES OR ASSISTANCE WITH FEES,AWARDED ON THE BASIS OF FINANCIAL NEED;3.FOR SUCH TIME AS THE SCHOOL ACCEPTS CHILDREN ON A FEE-PAYING BASIS,THE PROVISION OF SCHOLARSHIPS,BURSARIES OR ASSISTANCE WITH FEES,AWARDED ON THE BASIS OF MERIT;4.THE PROVISION AND CONDUCT,DIRECTLY OR BY AGREEMENT WITH OR APPOINTMENT OF OTHERS,OF A NURSERY FOR GIRLS AND BOYS UNDER THE AGE OF FIVE;5. THE PROVISION AND CONDUCT,DIRECTLY OR BY AGREEMENT WITH OR APPOINTMENT OF OTHERS,OF OUT-OF-SCHOOL EDUCATION, INCLUDING SUMMER SCHOOLS AND CLUBS PROMOTING PHYSICAL,SOCIAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES.
