Charitable objects
3.1THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO SHALL BE TO WORK WITHIN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AND THE COMMUNITY AT LARGE TOWARDS THE ELIMINATION OF DISCRIMINATION AND THE PROMOTION OF EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITY AND GOOD RELATIONS BETWEEN PERSONS OF DIFFERENT RACIAL GROUPS BY SUCH MEANS AS ARE CHARITABLE AND CONSONANT WITH THE CATHOLIC FAITH AND IN FURTHERANCE OF THE FOREGOING OBJECTS OR ANY OF THEM BUT NOT OTHERWISE THE CIO MAY: 3.1.1 PROMOTE AND PROVIDE A FORUM FOR THE EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION AND EXPERIENCE AMONG BLACK AND WHITE CATHOLICS COMMITTED TO THE ELIMINATION OF DISCRIMINATION AND THE PROMOTION OF EQUALITY OF OPPORTUNITY BETWEEN PERSONS OF DIFFERENT RACIAL GROUPS; 3.1.2 PROMOTE AWARENESS OF RELEVANT ISSUES WITHIN THE CATHOLIC COMMUNITY AND IN THE WIDER SOCIETY THROUGH PUBLICATIONS, CONFERENCES AND OTHER MEANS OF COMMUNICATION; 3.1.3 PROVIDE AND PROMOTE EDUCATIONAL AND TRAINING PROGRAMMES FOR CLERGY, MEMBERS OR RELIGIOUS CONGREGATIONS, TEACHERS, LAY LEADERS AND OTHERS; 3.1.4 UNDERTAKE AND PROMOTE RESEARCH IN CONNECTION WITH THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO AND PUBLISH THE USEFUL RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH.
