Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: 3.1 TO RELIEVE SICKNESS AND TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT GOOD HEALTH FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT BY: (A) ENCOURAGING AND SUPPORTING RESEARCH AND DEBATE ON BEST PRACTICE WITHIN MEDICAL FIELDS AND TO DISSEMINATE THE USEFUL RESULTS INTO THE PUBLIC DOMAIN; (B) ENCOURAGING AND SUPPORTING THOSE EMPLOYED OR STUDYING IN VARIOUS MEDICAL FIELDS BY PROVIDING AND ASSISTING WITH TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES; AND (C) PROVIDING AND ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF RESEARCH AND TRAINING FACILITIES, RESEARCH AND TRAINING SUPPORT SERVICES, RESEARCH AND TRAINING EQUIPMENT ANCILLARY TO THOSE PROVIDED BY THE HOSPITAL AT NORTHWICK PARK AND ST MARK?S HOSPITAL. 3.2 FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT TO PROMOTE THE EDUCATION (INCLUDING SOCIAL AND PHYSICAL TRAINING) OF PEOPLE IN ENGLAND AND WALES IN SUCH WAYS AS THE TRUSTEES THINK FIT, INCLUDING BY: (A) AWARDING TO SUCH PERSONS SCHOLARSHIPS, MAINTENANCE ALLOWANCES OR GRANTS TENABLE TO ANY UNIVERSITY, COLLEGE OR INSTITUTION OF HIGHER OR FURTHER EDUCATION. (B) PROVIDING THEIR EDUCATION (INCLUDING THE STUDY OF MUSIC IN OTHER ARTS), TO UNDERTAKE TRAVEL IN FURTHERANCE OF THAT EDUCATION OR TO PREPARE FOR ENTRY TO ANY OCCUPATION, TRADE OR PROFESSION ON LEAVING ANY EDUCATIONAL ESTABLISHMENT. 3.3 TO HELP YOUNG PEOPLE, ESPECIALLY BUT EXCLUSIVELY THROUGH YOUTH LEADERSHIP ACTIVITIES, SO AS TO DEVELOP THEIR CAPABILITIES THAT THEY MAY GROW TO FULL MATURITY AS INDIVIDUALS AND MEMBERS OF SOCIETY. 3.4 TO PROMOTE MUSIC AND ART FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC, IN SUCH WAYS AS THE TRUSTEES THINK FIT, INCLUDING BY: (A) PROMOTING AND ASSISTING IN THE PROVISION OF LOCAL MUSIC AND DANCE FESTIVALS.
