THE OBJECT OF THE CIO IS THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY IN THE CHEDDAR VALLEY AND THE SURROUNDING AREA IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY PROVIDING EMERGENCY FOOD SUPPLIES TO INDIVIDUALS IN NEED, AS MOTIVATED BY THE PRINCIPLES OF THE CHRISTIAN FAITH.
