Charitable objects
THE CHARITY'S OBJECTS ARE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT:- 3.1 TO FURTHER OR BENEFIT THE RESIDENTS OF AND VISITORS TO SOUTHALL AND WEST LONDON AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS, WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RACE OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS BY ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE SAID RESIDENTS AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN A COMMON EFFECT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE RESIDENTS AND VISITORS AND THEIR RELATIVES AND FAMILIES. IN FURTHERANCE OF THIS OBJECT, BUT WITHOUT LIMITATION, TO ESTABLISH A COMMUNITY CENTRE AND MAINTAIN OR MANAGE OR CO-OPERATE WITH ANY STATUTORY AUTHORITY IN THE MAINTENANCE AND MANAGEMENT OF SUCH A CENTRE FOR ACTIVITIES PROMOTED BY THE CHARITY IN FURTHERANCE OF THIS OBJECT; 3.2 TO ADVANCE THE CHRISTIAN FAITH IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE TENETS OF FAITH OF THE CHURCH OF ENGLAND; 3.3 TO PROMOTE RELIGIOUS HARMONY BY, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PROMOTING INTER-FAITH AND MULTI-FAITH EDUCATION, INFORMATION, DIALOGUE AND COMMUNICATION THUS OVERCOMING ANY ISOLATIONISM OR MISUNDERSTANDING AMONGST DIVERSE RELIGIOUS GROUPS; 3.4 TO ADVANCE AND DEVELOP THE HERITAGE OF ALL COMMUNITIES REPRESENTED IN SOUTHALL AND WEST LONDON AND THE SURROUNDING AREA; AND 3.5 THE PROMOTION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC OF URBAN OR RURAL REGENERATION IN AREAS OF SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC DEPRIVATION (AND IN PARTICULAR IN SOUTHALL AND LONDON AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS) BY ALL OR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING MEANS: 3.5.1 THE RELIEF OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP; 3.5.2 THE RELIEF OF UNEMPLOYMENT; 3.5.3 THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION, TRAINING OR RETRAINING, PARTICULARLY AMONG UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE, AND PROVIDING UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE WITH WORK EXPERIENCE; 3.5.4 THE PROVISION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE OR BUSINESS ADVICE OR CONSULTANCY IN ORDER TO PROVIDE TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR UNEMPLOYED PEOPLE IN CASES OF FINANCIAL OR OTHER CHARITABLE NEED THROUGH HELP: (I) IN SETTING UP THEIR OWN BUSINESS, OR (II) TO EXISTING BUSINESSES; 3.5.5 THE CREATION OF TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES BY THE PROVISION OF WORKSPACE, BUILDINGS, AND/OR LAND FOR USE ON FAVOURABLE TERMS; 3.5.6 THE PROVISION OF HOUSING FOR THOSE WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF NEED AND THE IMPROVEMENT OF HOUSING IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR OR IN CHARITABLE OWNERSHIP PROVIDED THAT SUCH POWER SHALL NOT EXTEND TO RELIEVING ANY LOCAL AUTHORITIES OR OTHER BODIES OF A STATUTORY DUTY TO PROVIDE OR IMPROVE HOUSING; 3.5.7 THE MAINTENANCE, IMPROVEMENT OR PROVISION OF PUBLIC AMENITIES; 3.5.8 THE PRESERVATION OF BUILDINGS OR SITES OF HISTORIC OR ARCHITECTURAL IMPORTANCE; 3.5.9 THE PROVISION OF RECREATIONAL FACILITIES FOR THE PUBLIC AT LARGE OR THOSE WHO BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY OR DISABLEMENT, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC CIRCUMSTANCES, HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES; 3.5.10 THE PROTECTION OR CONSERVATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT; 3.5.11 THE PROVISION OF PUBLIC HEALTH FACILITIES AND CHILDCARE; 3.5.12 THE PROMOTION OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND PREVENTION OF CRIME; AND 3.5.13 SUCH OTHER MEANS AS MAY FROM TIME TO TIME BE DETERMINED SUBJECT TO THE PRIOR WRITTEN CONSENT OF THE CHARITY COMMISSION.
