Activities - how the charity spends its money
The Society provides and advertises a public monthly lecture programme relating to all aspects of the history of Belper and the region. Provides public exhibitions, and has published several books. We have amassed, conserved and catalogued a huge collection of photographs of the area, a large collections of archive documents and of historic artifacts which are used for education and research.

TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE HISTORY OF BELPER, ITS NEIGHBOURHOOD AND PEOPLE IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: - PROVIDING LECTURES, PUBLICATIONS, DISPLAYS AND EXHIBITIONS; - ENCOURAGING PRACTICAL HISTORICAL RESEARCH INTO BELPER’S PAST; - COLLECTING AND PRESERVING ARTIFACTS, PHOTOGRAPHS, ARCHIVES, DOCUMENTS AND OTHER MATERIALS RELATING TO THE HISTORY OF BELPER AND ITS NEIGHBOURHOOD FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT; AND - MAKING SUCH RESOURCES AVAILABLE FOR STUDY BY THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
