Overcoming Multiple Sclerosis promotes a program of diet and lifestyle management that has been shown to improve the health and lives of people with MS. Prof. George Jelinek, who was diagnosed with MS in 1999, developed the rigorously researched OMS Recovery Program more than 15 years ago.Overcoming MS (OMS) was established in the UK in 2012 with the goal of expanding awareness of the program.

Charitable expenditure
Some charities generate all, or a substantial part, of their income from investments which may have been donated to the charity as endowment or set aside by the charity from its own resources in the past. Such investments usually take the form of stocks and shares but may include other assets, such as property, that are capable of generating income and/or capital growth.
In managing their spending and investments charities need to strike a balance between the needs of future and current beneficiaries. They also need to take account of spending commitments that may stretch over a number of future years. To do this, charities will normally adopt an investment strategy designed to generate both income and capital growth. To maximise returns trustees may commit to investment strategies for several years.
Investments can experience large swings in value so trustees may, in a particular year, decide to realise and spend part of their charity’s capital or to invest part of its income.

Charitable objects
4.1 The only objects for which the Charity is established are to relieve people with multiple sclerosis and to promote public health in relation to multiple sclerosis in particular but not exclusively by: 4.1.1 Providing information and advice for people with multiple sclerosis to take control of their health; 4.1.2 Fostering a community of support for people with multiple sclerosis and their families; 4.1.3 Promoting a holistic approach to multiple sclerosis taking account of people's psychological, physical and social needs and utilising the best available treatments; 4.1.4 Promoting and undertaking research into self-help techniques for the management of multiple sclerosis insofar as these are not incompatible with advice received from people's doctor or consultant physician; 4.1.5 Supporting and promoting charities funding multiple sclerosis research; and 4.1.6 Advocating with and on behalf of people with multiple sclerosis for healthcare services that enable those individuals to control and improve their health.
